As part of my master’s thesis, I developed a website that serves as a prototype for a blockchain-based Digital Product Passport for wine. The goal was to create a user-friendly and attractively designed platform that provides consumers with detailed insights into the entire production process of a wine bottle. The website was implemented using WordPress and structured in such a way that intuitive navigation and a clear, modern interface facilitate its use.
To make the content as user-oriented as possible, I conducted consumer surveys to understand expectations for a Digital Product Passport. The results of these surveys helped to prepare the content in a way that meets the information needs of the target group and is designed to be understandable and transparent for consumers.
The website shows the wine production process in all relevant steps – from harvesting through processing to bottling and packaging. The focus is on a clear and concise presentation that strengthens consumer trust and offers them the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information.
To ensure accessibility on all devices, I designed the website responsively. This ensures that the presentation remains equally attractive and user-friendly on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. This prototype serves as an example of the practical implementation of a Digital Product Passport and demonstrates how blockchain-based transparency solutions can help consumers make informed purchasing decisions and better understand sustainable products.
